What is 1B Insurance?
1B Insurance is the first regulated insurance company in the EU specializing in insuring blockchain companies.
Why do blockchain companies need insurance?
With the MiCAR regulation (valid from December 30, 2024), crypto companies in the EU are obliged under §67 no. 1 to have prudential safeguards. According to no. 4, these can be ensured with one's own funds or with appropriate insurance. For liquidity reasons, all but a few exceptions will prefer insurance. However, no insurer has yet launched a corresponding product on the market.
